Elements Nature School is an all outdoor preschool/kindergarten located at the Coyote Trails Nature Center and serving children ages 3-6.  School hours are Monday-Thursday, from 9am-1pm.      

Driven by child led exploration and curiosity, our program fully immerses children into the natural world as we spend our days exploring the park.  We believe that our students, by spending their days outside throughout the seasons, will gain a rich understanding of the natural world and how they can interact with it in a healthy way.  

At Elements Nature School children are given freedom to play, the opportunity to explore and learn about the natural environment, and the support they need in learning how to handle risks and cooperate with their peers.  With these experiences, alongside our hands on learning, our program fosters the child's development in a holistic way.  Students build interpersonal skills like teamwork, communication, cooperation and problem solving.  Through taking risks in the outdoors our students build confidence, resiliency and heightened self esteem, all skills which will help to improve their judgement as they grow.

Some activities that fill our days are:

- hiking the trails throughout the park

- climbing trees, rolling down hills, building forts, LOTS of nature play 

- learning to identify wild and edible plants/berries/seeds

- harvest and process acorns for food

- nature based songs, games and crafts
